Creating a silk  Iris  in Japanese technique, 9 July, Gold Coast

In this 5–6 hour workshop, students will learn traditional Japanese silk flower-making techniques and create a beautiful, realistic iris.

The flowers made using these techniques have a natural, lifelike appearance and offer a different approach to traditional European flower-making methods. During the workshop, students will learn all stages of the process, including preparing and shaping petals, working with a variety of Japanese-style flower-making tools, and assembling the finished flower.

Students will also learn how the iris design can be adapted to create a stunning hibiscus using the same techniques.

This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced makers. The number of participants is strictly limited to ensure plenty of individual attention and a high-quality learning experience.

All tools and materials are provided.

Workshop fee: $1990

Time: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, including a one-hour lunch break. Light refreshments will be provided.
