In this workshop students will learn a famous Japanese flower making technique, Somebana. The flowers made using this technique look much more realistic than flowers made with the traditional French technique.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn this special technique. There will be only 2 more classes, one in Melbourne on 8th July and the last one is in the USA, at Millinery Meet Up 2018. This means you will be one of the few knowing the technique to give you an edge.

What will you  learn?

Students will be guided through all the stages of the process of creating flowers from silk. This will include preparation of the silk, making patterns, dying, assembling and finishing techniques.

Students will learn how to work with a wide range of Japanese style flower making tools achieving some proficiency in the Somebana technique.

The students will make a beautiful realistic looking silk rose, suitable for use in millinery
